Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Rising Star of Indian Cricket
- Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born on 27 March 2011 in Tajpur, located in the Samastipur district of Bihar, India. He began playing cricket at the tender age of four, receiving his initial coaching from his father. A left-handed batsman, Suryavanshi quickly rose through the ranks with his prodigious talent.
- He made his first-class debut in January 2024, becoming the youngest Indian to debut in List A cricket. Notably, he surpassed the modern-era record held by Yuvraj Singh (15 years, 57 days), although Alimuddin remains the youngest overall Indian first-class debutant, having debuted at 12 years and 73 days during the 1942–43 season for Rajputana.
- In November 2024, at just 13 years old, Suryavanshi made history by becoming the youngest player ever to sign an Indian Premier League contract, picked by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore.
- On 19 April 2025, he made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals against the Lucknow Super Giants, aged 14 years and 23 days, setting a new record as the youngest IPL debutant.
- Just days later, on 28 April 2025, he achieved another milestone by becoming the youngest player in IPL history to score a century, smashing a 35-ball hundred against the Gujarat Titans. At 14 years and 32 days, he also became the second-fastest century scorer in IPL history.

- Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s fearless century wasn’t just another high-scoring IPL innings — it was an epoch-making performance. He combined raw power, audacity, and sublime timing to announce himself on the world stage. At an age where most are playing school cricket, he stood tall among global stars under Jaipur’s dazzling lights, etching his name into cricket folklore.
- However, questions have surfaced regarding his official date of birth. In a 2023 interview, Suryavanshi had claimed that his 14th birthday was on 27 September 2023, which would make him approximately a year and a half older than the official records suggest.
The future for this “boy from the clan of the sun” looks as radiant as the evening he lit up.
